It's the number-one question we get before a booking: "Will it actually fit in my yard?" Good news — most yards work just fine. Here's how to know for sure before your party.
The footprint: start with 15 × 15 feet
A standard residential bounce house needs roughly a 15 by 15 foot flat area. Larger combo units with slides, and obstacle courses, need more — sometimes 30 feet or longer. When you request a quote, we'll give you the exact dimensions for the unit you're eyeing so there are no surprises on party day.
Add clearance on every side
The footprint is just the unit itself. You'll also want a few feet of open space around all sides for safe entry and exit, plus room for the anchoring stakes. As a rule of thumb, add about two to three feet of clearance beyond the unit's measurements.
Don't forget overhead height
Bounce houses are taller than people expect — many stand 12 to 18 feet at the peak, and slides go higher. Before you book, look up. Keep the setup clear of:
- Low tree branches and canopies
- Power lines and utility wires
- Roof overhangs, gutters, and porch coverings
Surface matters
We set up on grass, concrete, asphalt, and indoors. Grass is ideal because we can stake directly into it, but hard surfaces work great with sandbag anchoring. Just tell us your surface when you book so we bring the right gear. Read more about our process on the How It Works page.
Check your access route
The equipment has to get from our truck to the setup spot. Make sure there's a clear path at least three feet wide — gates, side yards, and walkways all count. Rolled up, a bounce house is bulky, so narrow gates are the most common snag we run into.
A 60-second pre-booking checklist
- Measure a flat area — aim for at least 15 × 15 ft (more for combos and slides).
- Look up and confirm nothing overhead is in the way.
- Note your surface: grass, concrete, asphalt, or indoor.
- Find a power outlet within about 100 feet.
- Confirm your gate or access path is at least 3 ft wide.
