The secret isn't spending more — it's planning ahead. Here's the exact checklist our Jacksonville crew wishes every parent had before their big day.

4–6 weeks out: lock in the basics

Weekends fill up fast in the spring and summer, so the earliest decisions matter most. Nail these down first:

  • Pick your date and a rain-friendly backup window. Florida afternoons can be unpredictable, so know your Plan B before you send invites.
  • Estimate your headcount. Kids and the adults tagging along. This drives everything from seating to how big a bounce house you'll want.
  • Reserve your inflatable. The most popular combo units book out weeks ahead. Request a quote as soon as you have a date.

2–3 weeks out: shape the day

Now the fun details come together. Think about the flow of the party, not just the pieces:

  • Send invitations with a clear start and end time — a two to three hour window is the sweet spot for younger kids.
  • Plan a simple theme. A single color scheme and one activity (a bounce house counts!) is plenty.
  • Decide on food. Will you grill, order in, or add a popcorn or snow cone machine for that carnival feel?

A little groundwork makes delivery day effortless. Before we arrive, make sure you have:

  1. A flat, clear area roughly 15 × 15 ft for most bounce houses.

  3. A garden hose nearby if you're renting a wet water slide.
  4. Gate or side-yard access at least three feet wide so we can roll equipment through.
  5. Pets picked up after, and sprinklers turned off the night before.

Party day: a simple timeline

  • Before guests arrive: we deliver and set up, then walk you through safe operation.
  • First 45 minutes: free play on the bounce house while everyone arrives.
  • Middle: food, then cake and a group photo.
  • Last stretch: back to bouncing to burn off that cake, then goodbye bags.

Don't forget the little things

These are the items parents most often overlook: sunscreen, a first-aid kit, extra trash bags, a cooler of water, and a designated adult to keep an eye on the inflatable at all times. Assign that last job before the party, not during it.
